Add a signature image to a PDF

Place a picture of your signature, your initials, today's date and a printed name on any page of a PDF and download a new copy. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Steps

Create or pick a signature, open PDF, choose your file. Your pages are rendered on screen; drag placements where you want them, use a corner preset, or put initials on every page. Download the new copy.

What it is not

This adds images and text. It does not verify identity, keep an audit trail or collect signatures from several people, and it makes no claim about legal effect. For legally binding e-signatures use a dedicated service. Read the terms before relying on an output.

Protected files

Password-protected or encrypted PDFs can't be modified. Remove the protection in your PDF app first, then try again. Files over 50 MB are refused to keep the browser responsive.

Initials, dates and printed name

Beyond the main signature, you can drop your initials, a date and a printed name onto the page. A corner preset places them consistently, and initials can be applied to every page at once for a long lease or contract.

Working across many pages

Your PDF's pages render on screen so you can page through and place things exactly where each one needs them, rather than guessing at coordinates. A signature can go on one page while initials repeat across the rest.

Related tools

Don't need a whole PDF? Sign-off makes a flat image with your signature, name, title and date. Stamp places it on a graphic instead of a document. See transparent PNGs and drawing a signature for how the image itself is made.

Privacy

The PDF and your signature are processed in the browser and are not uploaded. Only the file name is remembered, so the next lease or offer letter opens with the same placement. See Privacy.

Frequently asked questions

Does this create a legally binding e-signature?

No. It places a signature image, initials, a date and a printed name onto the page. There is no identity verification, audit trail or counter-signing, so it is not an e-signature service.

Can I sign more than one page?

Yes. Drag the signature onto any page you need, and apply initials to every page at once for a long document.

What happens to my original PDF?

It is untouched. A new copy downloads with your placements baked in.

Can I open a password-protected PDF here?

No. Remove the password or encryption in your PDF app first, then upload the file.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes, 50 MB, to keep the browser responsive while your pages render.

Will it remember where I placed things next time?

Only the file name is remembered, so reopening the same lease or offer letter starts with the same placement.

Can I add a date next to my signature?

Yes. A date can be placed on the page alongside your signature, initials or printed name.
